Music

Each week students take part in a lessons with Mrs Colliver in our music room. Students are given opportunities to sing, dance, move and play instruments, while learning about formal musical notation concepts. We sing and move to different forms of music, with songs ranging across the ages. Junior favourites include, “My Dog Has Fleas”, “Macaroni”, “Every little thing will be alright”. 

Instruments explored include ukelele, guitar, bass guitar, keyboards and various percussion instruments (handbells, triangles, electric drumkits, drums, tambourines, and body percussion).

Students practice for and participate in school performances such as the Portland Music Festival (a highlight of the year!), school celebrations, local events and an end of year concert.
